What the maker published about the Haas ST-30SS
The Haas ST-30SS appears in two of Haas's lathe groups, the 2-axis machines and the super-speed models. It holds work in a 10" (254 mm) chuck on an A2-6 spindle nose, whose 3.50" bore clears bar up to 3.0" (76 mm). A 30 hp vector drive takes the spindle to 4500 rpm, and peak torque, 275 ft-lb, arrives at 600 rpm. The largest part it turns is 16.0" (406 mm) across and 26.0" (660 mm) long. Over the front apron the machine swings 31.75"; over the tailstock, 23.0". The turret is a 24-station hybrid made up of 12 VDI and 12 BOT positions. X stroke is 12.5" and Z stroke 26", with rapid rates of 945 in/min and 1200 in/min in that order. Rigid tapping, a 15" color LCD monitor and a keyswitch for memory lock come with the base lathe. It needs 4 scfm of air at 100 psi, carries 55 gal of coolant and weighs 13300 lb.
