Haas's archived page lists the ST-20SS as a CNC lathe of 10 x 21 in (254 x 533 mm) maximum capacity whose spindle, on a vector drive rated 30 hp (22.4 kW), reaches 5000 rpm and gives 140 ft-lb at 1450 rpm. The lathe swings 31.75 in (806 mm) above its front apron, 20.75 in at the cross slide and 23.0 in at the tailstock. The 8.3 in (210 mm) chuck mounts to an A2-6 spindle nose; the bore is 3.50 in, and bar stock as large as 2.0 in (51 mm) passes through. A 24-station hybrid turret takes both BOT and VDI tools, and a standard toolholder kit is supplied. X travels 9.3 in at a 945 in/min rapid, Z 21.0 in at 1200 in/min, and the axis motors push 4100 lb on X and 4050 lb on Z. Rigid tapping is included. Coolant capacity is 48 gal, and the lathe weighs 9000 lb.
