What the maker published about the Doosan VT900
With the PUMA VT900, Doosan Machine Tools matched a 24 inch chuck with a 12 station turret in vertical turning center form. Its turning envelope spans a 900 mm diameter and an 850 mm length, within a swing of 1000 mm over the bed. A ZF gearbox with low and high ranges links motor and spindle; the motor gives 37 kW without a time limit and 45 kW over a 30 minute period, and 1800 r/min is the spindle's limit. The nose follows ISO 702-1 A2#15, with a spindle hole of 107 mm. X strokes 470 mm, Z strokes 850 mm, with a 20 m/min rapid rate on each. Swinging the turret by one station takes 2.0 s; OD tools are 32 mm and boring bars reach 80 mm. A Fanuc 32i runs the machine. Length, width and height come to 2130, 3050 and 3621 mm; it draws 75 kVA and weighs 12500 kg.
