Y axis control is built into the SL-154SY, which Mori Seiki labels a continuous and dual process turning center. That axis gives 70 mm of stroke, 40 mm to one side and 30 mm to the other, and a footnote warns the real stroke can shrink depending on where X sits. All 12 turret stations take rotary tools, rated 3,000 min-1 with a 4,000 min-1 version optional. The spindle range is 60 to 6,000 min-1, an optional range climbs from 80 to 8,000 min-1, and fitting an 8 inch chuck to headstock 1 shifts the range to 45 to 4,500 min-1. On its Z2 axis, headstock 2 moves 520 mm. Turning capacity is 300 mm in diameter, 170 mm standard, and 350 mm in length, while X travels 215 mm (150 plus 65) and Z 490 mm.
