DMG MORI's NMV 5000 DCG, a vertical machining center controlling five axes, machines five sides of a part in one setting. Travel is 28.7 in. on X, 20.1 in. on Y and 20.1 in. on Z. The rotary table is 19.7 in. in diameter and takes loads to 661.4 lbs., and a workpiece can reach 27.6 in. in diameter and 17.7 in. tall. Direct drive motors turn both rotary axes. C rotates a full 360° at up to 120 rpm, with 500 or 1,200 rpm as options, and B rapids at 35 rpm, or 50 rpm optionally. The spindle's top speed is 12,000 rpm; 20,000 rpm comes as an option. Rapids run 164 ft/min for X, the same for Y, and 131.2 ft/min for Z. A 31 tool magazine is standard, with larger magazines as options. The frame combines DCG drive, a Box-in-Box build with no overhang, an octagonal ram on the Z axis and a table-in-table layout. Its control is MAPPS.
