DMG MORI built the NMV 3000 DCG as a vertical machining center under 5-axis control, with direct drive motors (DDM) turning its rotary axes, and pitched it at small workpieces for automobile and aircraft work. A large automatic workpiece changer (AWC) was listed as an option for long unmanned running. Linear strokes measure 19.7 in (X), 13.8 in (Y) and 20.1 in (Z); the table takes up to 220 lbs. Tools fit a BT40 shank, with HSK-A63 as an option; the chain magazine carries 21 as standard, and larger chain or rack magazines of up to 320 were optional. A 12,000 rpm spindle is fitted as standard, with options listed from 20,000 up to 40,000 rpm. At 100% duty it gives 24.8 hp and 70.1 ft./lbs. of torque. X and Y rapid at 1,968.5 ipm, Z at 1,574.8 ipm. Control is MAPPS IV, with FANUC also named. The machine weighs 20,723.5 lbs, stands 128 in high, covers 91.9 x 147.9 in of floor and needs a 39.2 kVA supply.
