Mori Seiki's MT2500S/1500 is a multi-axis turning center; its tool spindle tilts through ±120° about its B axis while two headstocks hold the work. Headstock 1 is rated for 4,000 min-1 and headstock 2 for 4,500 min-1. Measured at the tool spindle, X covers 565 mm, Y spans ±115 mm and Z stretches to 1,599 mm. Parts as large as 540 mm in diameter fit, and with a chuck gripping each end the turning length can reach 1,530 mm. The tool spindle turns at 8,000 min-1, or at 12,000 min-1 in its optional form. Twenty tools are stored as standard, and magazines for 40, 60, 120 or 180 tools appear among the options. Workholding and tooling choices can keep any of these spindles under its rated top speed.
