Mori Seiki's GV-503, a GV series vertical machining center, works from two pallets, each 750x550 mm and loaded to 300 kg. The column provides the 610 mm X motion lengthwise and the spindle head the 460 mm of Z. Y is 510 mm of cutting travel, plus another 95 mm that lies outside the machining range. The standard spindle tops out at 12,000 min-1, and the faster option is 20,000 min-1. MAS BT-40 shanks are standard, while CAT-40 and DIN-40 were optional. A 30 tool magazine is fitted, or 60 tools with the optional one. The note under the table points out that the job's fixture and tooling may keep the spindle from its maximum. Every length and weight also carries its inch or pound conversion, for example 18.1 in. for Z.
