DMG MORI's Czech regional page, written in English and read from an archived copy, describes the DMU 70 as a five-axis milling machine that grew out of the DMU 50 universal milling machine in a larger size. It travels 750 mm in X, 600 mm in Y and 520 mm in Z. The standard drive covers 20 to 10,000 rpm with 9/13 kW and 83 Nm, while optional motor spindles reach 14,000 or 18,000 rpm at 25/35 kW, the faster one with 130 Nm. Rapid traverse is 24 m/min. The cross slide is ribbed cast iron on a base of polymer concrete, and the swivel rotary table, an option, is set into that base. A fixed table of 1,000 x 620 mm carries 800 kg, while the swivel rotary table measures 800 x 620 mm. Tool magazines of 16, 30 or 60 pockets were optional.
