Five axis CNC milling is what DMG MORI built the DMU 50 ecoline for, around a patented NC swivel rotary table whose B and C axes clamp hydraulically. Axis strokes are 500 mm on X, 450 mm on Y and 400 mm on Z, and the 630 by 500 mm table carries parts of up to 200 kg. Feed drives move every axis at up to 24 m/min. In the version the page shows, its standard spindle is rated 12 000 rpm, 9 kW and 57 Nm at 100% duty, while the tool magazine has 16 pockets, or 32 at most. SIEMENS 840D solutionline is the control, running ShopMill under Operate 4.5 on a SLIMline panel with a 15 inch TFT screen, and it adds 3D simulation along with Ethernet and USB connections. Option packages listed cover internal coolant at up to 40 bar, chip removal, a tropical build and automation, and a 3D quickSET kit is listed for checking and correcting the machine's kinematics.
