The CLX 450 from DMG MORI is a universal CNC lathe in the CLX Series. Its main spindle turns to 4,000 rpm on a drive rated 34.2 hp at 40% duty. Parts as large as 400 mm across and 800 mm long can be turned, and bar stock up to 80 mm passes through. The cross slide has 276 mm of X stroke, and the Z stroke reaches 830 mm. The Y axis, where present, moves 120 mm for milling on the side faces of parts. An optional counter spindle with an integrated motor gives 18.8 hp and 141.6 lb ft at 40% duty, has a 5,000 rpm ceiling and permits machining on six sides. Direct measuring is standard on X alone or on both X and Y. The control is either SIEMENS with a 19" multi-touch panel or FANUC with a 19" SLIM line panel. A bar feeder interface is an option, as is a part catcher for pieces up to 8.8 lb. It needs 72.1 ft² of floor.
