The SPEEDIO R450X1 is the model with which Brother brought a standard pallet changer into its SPEEDIO line. Its QT table swaps its two pallet faces by turning, without a lift and inside a sealed housing, so parts can be swapped on one face while the other is being cut, and a pallet change takes 2.9 seconds. The standard jig area turns within a 1,020 mm diameter with 300 mm of jig height, and both can be enlarged as options. Strokes measure 450 mm (X), 320 mm (Y) and 305 mm (Z), and each face gives a 600 x 300 mm work area. Standard spindle speed is 10,000 min-1, a 16,000 min-1 spindle or a high torque one at 10,000 min-1 can be fitted instead, and tapping reaches 6,000 min-1. Brother first offered a 14 tool magazine and later a 22 tool one. During the table turn the machine moves X, Y and extra axes into place and changes the tool at once.
