2023 Haas TM-1P
Metal Cutting
57 Haas TM-1P listings have come through the used market we track: 9 marketplaces, built 1999–2023 where given; 54 machines once repeats are merged.
Haas groups the TM-1P in its TM-P Series, the toolroom mills that carry a carousel changer with 10 pockets, and it is a three-axis model with 30.00 in of X travel. Y and Z each travel 16.00 in. The spindle runs up to 6000 rpm through a belt drive, rated at 7.5 hp. Torque reaches 33.0 ft-lbf when the spindle turns 1200 rpm. Holders are 40-taper, of CT or BT type. Pocket limits on the carousel are 3.5 in of diameter and 12.0 lb per tool. Average tool change time is 5.70 s, and chip to chip it is 6.50 s. All three axes rapid at 400 ipm, which is also the maximum cutting feed. The table is 47.8 in by 10.5 in, carries 3 T-slots, and holds 350 lb. The spindle nose can be as low as 4.0 in or as high as 20.0 in over the table. Supply may be single- or three-phase, though Europe has no single-phase version.

Haas points the TM-1P at schools, at companies taking their first step into CNC and at parts that need long travels; it says the mill can be run without knowing G-code, and it lists a conversational programming system.

Each of these follows from a published specification above, which is named beside it.
This is a 40-taper spindle — the 7:24 steep taper that CAT-40, BT-40 and DIN 69871 (SK-40) holders all share. They share the taper and nothing else that matters: the retention knob and the flange form differ between those standards, so holders do not swap between them without changing pull studs. Knowing which standard a machine was tooled for is worth doing before the holders are packed. The manufacturer names BT (JIS/MAS 403) for this machine.
