The OM-2A is an office mill sized, on the saved Haas specification page, at 12 x 10 x 12 in of XYZ travel (305, 254 and 305 mm), with a high-speed ISO 20 taper spindle. A vector drive of 5 hp (3.7 kW) drives the spindle to 30,000 rpm by way of a direct-speed belt; torque is 8 ft-lb at 3000 rpm, and the bearings are lubricated by air/oil injection. Its 20 x 10 in table holds 150 lb (68 kg) evenly spread, and the spindle nose reaches down to the table surface or up to 12 in above it. A 20-station automatic tool changer handles tools as wide as 2.3 in and as heavy as 5 lb, averaging 3.2 sec per change. Rapids are 757 in/min and cutting feed 500 in/min. The mill runs only on single-phase 208-250VAC power through a NEMA L6-20P plug, holds 13 gal of coolant and weighs 1500 lb.
