The Haas DT-2 is a compact three-axis drill and tap machine that can also mill, built around a 30-taper spindle. Compared with the DT-1 it adds X travel and a longer table. Travels measure 28.00 in in X, 16.00 in in Y and 15.50 in in Z, and the spindle nose comes within 6.0 in of the table and rises to 21.5 in. The table is 34.0 in by 15.0 in with three T-slots; its load limit is 250 lb at full rapid rate and 500 lb when rapids are held to 50%. The BT30 inline direct-drive spindle reaches 10,000 rpm, carries a 15.0 hp rating and makes 46.0 ft-lbf at 1700 rpm, and rigid tapping is standard with a tapping speed limit of 5000 rpm. A 20+1 side-mount changer takes tools up to 2.0 in in diameter, 7.00 in long and 5.5 lb, averaging 1.75 s tool to tool. Rapids are 2400 ipm, cutting feed is 1200 ipm, and the coolant tank holds 55 gal.
