The Tsugami M08SY is a Y-axis turning center that also carries a subspindle. Its listed operations are CNC milling, turning, boring, drilling and cross-drilling. Main and back spindles each use integral built-in spindle motors. The chuck size is 8 inch. A 12-position turret sits on the Y axis. Driven tools can go in any of its positions and work on either spindle. With the Y axis, turret tools are placed above or below center for off-center milling, and a C axis is also provided. X and Y run on box ways, while the Z slide uses linear roller guide ways. The main spindle motor is rated 10 to 14.8 hp (7.5/11 kW). The back spindle motor is rated 7.45 to 10 hp (5.5/7.5 kW).
