Metal Cutting
7 Toyoda Americas FA 1050 listings have come through the used market we track: 4 marketplaces, built 2012–2015 where given; 2 early years, each reported by only one marketplace, are left out.
The FA 1050, a horizontal machining center from Toyoda, works on square pallets 41.3 in per side that bear loads to 6,600 lb. Strokes measure 63.0 in for the column on X, 55.1 in for the spindle head on Y and 45.2 in for the table on Z. Between spindle nose and pallet top, the distance ranges from 1.97 to 57.1 in. Power is 40 HP for half an hour at a time and 30 HP continuous, turning a #50 spindle from 35 up to 6,000 rpm. Spindle choices beyond that one were optional: a 6,000 rpm geared head rated 60 HP, 14,000 and 15,000 rpm units, and a 20,000 rpm HSK-A100 spindle. Coolant can also be routed through the spindle as an option. Forty CAT #50 tools make up the base magazine, which grows to 60, 120, 190 or 240 on request, and a tool swap takes 2.0 sec, with tools as heavy as 77 lb.
