Mazak listed the MULTIPLEX-6100Y as a twin-spindle multitasking lathe with two turrets of 12 tools each and a Y axis stroke of +/- 1.575". Work up to 9.06" in diameter and 6.69" long fits, and the spindles stand 40.55" apart. Both spindles turn to 6,000rpm, and both motors carry AC 11kW {15HP} for 30 minutes; spindle torque is 119 ft/lbs. The bore measures 2.4" on an A2-5 nose, and bar runs to 1.65", with 2.0" optional. Rotary tools spin at 4,500rpm, or 6,000rpm as an option. C-axis positioning splits a turn into 360,000 steps on either spindle. Rapids reach 1,200 IPM along X and 1,300 IPM along Z. Parts move from the first operation to the second automatically, and the two spindles can cut at the same time.
