The MEGA TURN 900 is a vertical CNC turning center from Mazak, and the MEGA TURN 900S is its mirror image version. Work as large as 36 inch in diameter and 31.5 inch high fits in the machining area, with a maximum loading weight of 6614 lbs. Chucks of 21, 24, 28, 32 or 36 inch are listed as options. The spindle tops out at 1250 rpm; its motor is rated 30 kW (40 HP) at 40% ED and 22 kW (30 HP) continuously, and peak torque reaches 2696 ft-lbs. A 12 position turret takes tools with a 1 inch shank height and boring bars up to 2 inch in diameter. Travel is 19 inch in X and 34 inch in Z, with rapid traverse of 945 IPM on each axis. A two pallet changer is optional. With the MAZATROL control version the maker sizes it for, the machine occupies 94 by 117 inch, stands 134 inch tall and weighs 30864 lbs.
