What the maker published about the Hyundai WIA F400VM

In 2012 the F400VM Series page from Hyundai WIA's American arm listed a vertical machining center travelling 800 mm in X, 460 mm in Y and 520 mm in Z over a 1000 x 460 mm table. Rapids reach 36 m/min in X and Y and 30 m/min in Z. The spindle takes BBT #40 holders and is rated 15/11 kW. With Big Plus tooling the holder's flange face also seats against the spindle face, and coolant can be fed through the spindle, which the maker links to deep hole drilling, longer tool life and shorter cycles. Rigid tapping is standard, so no special tap holders are needed, and the page credits it with more consistent threads and longer tap life. The same page puts the F400VM and the F500VM together in one series of vertical machining centers announced by Hyundai WIA.
