What the maker published about the Doosan PUMA V550
Doosan Machine Tools fitted its PUMA V550 vertical turning center with an A2#11 spindle nose carrying a 15 inch (380 mm) chuck. Turned diameters reach 730 mm, with 750 mm as the length limit. A 37 kW motor, rated for 30 minutes, brings the spindle to 2000 r/min, and the bore through it is 140 mm. The cross slide strokes 390 mm on X, while the vertical Z stroke reaches 780 mm. Rapid rates differ by axis: 20 m/min for X, 16 m/min for Z. Eight turret stations come standard, indexing one station in 0.15 s, and turrets with 10 or 12 stations were optional. Doosan Fanuc i series control was standard, with a Fanuc 32i as the alternative option. The plain V550 weighs 9000 kg, needs 54.4 kVA of electric supply, and sits on a plan of 1905 by 2720 mm.
