A turning center with driven tools, the SL-253BMC appears on a German Mori Seiki page drawn up for one bed length, the SL-253BMC/1000. Every one of its turret stations takes a rotary tool: ten as standard, or twelve on an optional turret, with a rotary tool limit of 3,000 min-1 that an option lifts to 4,000 min-1. Spindle speed ranges from 35 to 3,500 min-1. The largest diameter it turns is 390 mm, with 248 mm as the standard size; X moves 235 mm, given as 195 mm plus 40 mm. Length figures belong to the /1000 build only: on that bed a part may be 1,035 mm long and Z covers 1,045 mm. The photograph shows an SL-253B/1000 rather than the MC machine, and no control, motor or bar size appears.
