The CTX beta 800 TC, as shown on DMG MORI Australia's product page (archived 2019), is a lathe that also mills, meant for complete machining and built around the compactMASTER turning and milling spindle. Its turning envelope is 500 mm in diameter by 800 mm in length, with 1,020 mm between centers. The main spindle has a built-in motor and a C axis that indexes in 0.0001 degree steps, and it turns 5,000 rpm. The compactMASTER head is rated 22 kW and 120 Nm at 12,000 rpm, with up to 20,000 rpm available, swivels plus or minus 110 degrees on the B axis and has a Y stroke of plus or minus 100 mm. A 24 tool disk magazine is standard; chain magazines with 48 or 80 stations were options. An optional counter spindle reaches 6,000 rpm and 170 Nm. The traveling column carries linear scales on X1, Y1 and Z1, and the spindles and axis motors are liquid cooled.
