Mori Seiki's CL series included the CL-253B, which the maker labeled a CNC lathe. It handles work as large as 450 mm across and 471 mm long, with 250 mm as its standard turning diameter. The spindle range runs from 30 to 3,000 min-1, and an optional high-torque specification spans 30 to 2,500 min-1. As standard the turret holds 10 tools; a 12-station turret is the option. The X slide moves 260 mm, from a 225 mm and a 35 mm portion, and the Z slide 500 mm. Mori Seiki cautions that the chuck, fixture or tool in use can keep the spindle below its listed maximum.
