What the maker publishes about the current Chevalier FSG-6060DC

Falcon Machine Tools, which builds the CHEVALIER grinders in Taiwan, lists the FSG-6060DC in its FSG-DC Series of fixed-beam double column CNC grinders, eleven models running from the FSG-4060DC to the FSG-60160DC. The iSurface control, a PC-based system, comes standard on the 40, 50 and 60 sizes, with SMART iControl as an option, and it holds a constant surface speed through dressing and grinding cycles. The guideways and spindle seat are raised on the columns and use linear guideways, ballscrews and a pneumatic counterweight. On the FSG-6060DC, work up to 1,500 mm wide can be ground crosswise, the columns stand 1,900 mm apart, and the table carries 6,000 kg. The table travels 1,700 mm at 5 to 25 m/min, and the cross axis also moves 1,700 mm, at feeds up to 5,000 mm/min. The horizontal wheelhead rises and falls 680 mm, or 900 mm as an option. Its spindle runs from 500 to 2,000 rpm and drives a wheel 510 mm across and 100 mm wide on a 127 mm bore. Floor space is 6,100 by 10,500 mm, with a height of 4,710 mm.
