What the maker publishes about the current Brother TC-S2A
Brother built the TC-S2A as a CNC tapping center of table traverse design, with the work riding on a moving table under a #30 spindle. For the TC-S2A itself, X covers 480 mm, Y covers 360 mm and Z covers 270 mm. Brother specifies the spindle in a 10,000 min-1 form and a 16,000 min-1 form, and a 14 tool magazine serves either one. In rapid, Z moves at 50 m/min while X and Y each move at 36 m/min. Installed, the machine asks for a floor area of 1,617 x 2,658 mm. A heat expansion compensation system for the Z axis appears on the page as an option. Brother puts a long X stroke version, the TC-S2A-O, on the same page, and files both versions under its discontinued products.
