How Selling Your Hyundai WIA Works

  1. Send the plate and the control

Use the form or call with the model from the data plate (an L or SE-series lathe, an F-series or XF vertical, a KH or HS horizontal), the year, and the control on the panel. Say whether the plate reads Hyundai WIA, WIA or Kia, and list any pallet changer or bar feeder that goes with it.

  2. Get a quote within 24-48 hours

Expect a cash offer on your Hyundai WIA, checked against current market data, usually within 24 to 48 hours. We have been buying used machine tools since 2012, as a direct buyer and not a broker.

  3. We can arrange the move

Accept the offer and we can arrange the rigging, crating, freight and pickup, whether it is a single turning center or a cell of vertical machining centers.

Who Makes Hyundai WIA Machine Tools

Hyundai WIA Corp. is a Korean manufacturer founded in 1976, with its headquarters in Changwon. It began producing machine tools in 1977, a year after it was founded, and its history credits it with developing the first machining center made in Korea in 1983. Today the company also builds automobile parts, robotics and defense equipment, and by its own figures it ranked first in Korea and tenth in the world for machine tool sales in 2018.

Its machine tool plants grew in Changwon, where its history records an expansion of the Changwon Machine Tool Factory in 2010, and in China, where it completed a machine tools plant in 2008 and a second machine tools factory in Jiangsu in 2011. The company set up a local subsidiary in the USA in 1989.

From the decade pages of Hyundai WIA's history, which run to 2025; they give no date for the WIA Machine Tools site.

WIA Machine Tools: The Name on the Machine Tool Site Today

Hyundai WIA's own site lists WIA MACHINE TOOLS among its linked sites, and that separate machine tool site calls itself a machine tool specialist that is making a fresh start with a greater vision, from proprietary design through production and after-sales service. Its pages carry the name WIA MACHINE TOOLS Corp. Neither site, on the pages we saved, says who owns that business or when the name took over, so we do not guess.

The name itself is not new. Hyundai WIA's history already lists the opening of the 4th exhibition of WIA Machine Tools in 2006. For a seller, nothing changes: the listings on this page sit under Hyundai WIA, and a machine badged WIA belongs here too.

Hyundai WIA Lines, Controls and What Decides the Offer

Hyundai WIA groups its machine tools as CNC turning centers, machining centers and smart software. Its history marks a few of them: a vertical lathe, the CX-1, jointly developed with a Japanese partner in 1997; a prize for the HS500 horizontal machining center in 2006; and production of the XF6300 5-axis machine in 2017. In 2016 it developed HYUNDAI iTROL, its own CNC controller, so the control on a Hyundai WIA is worth naming exactly when you ask for an offer.

On the turning side, WIA Machine Tools describes a one-piece slant bed in two lineups: LM-guide models for high-speed mass production and box-guide models with more torque for heavy cutting. That split matters to the next owner, so it matters to the price, along with chuck size, live tooling and a sub-spindle. On machining centers and horizontals, pallet automation counts: WIA Machine Tools offers an automatic workpiece changer, a multi-pallet system and a pallet line system, and a machine that leaves with its pallets is worth more than the bare machine.

The Hyundai WIA Models We Are Asked About

The Hyundai WIA model pages on this site are mostly lathes, the KIT4500, L230LMSA, L300A, L500LMA and L2100SY, plus the F400, F400VM and XF6300 vertical machining centers and the KBN135C horizontal boring mill. The searches that reach our listings follow the same pattern, led by the F400 and the XF6300, which Hyundai WIA presents on its own site as a 5-axis vertical machining center. The first page of our Hyundai WIA listings adds SE-series lathes, i-CUT drilling and tapping centers and KH horizontals.

Hyundai WIA Service, or Selling Outright

For a machine you keep, service now runs through WIA Machine Tools, whose service guide describes an integrated call center that takes a request from first call to dispatch, backed by service information, parts supply, technical training and engineers. That is the route for a Hyundai WIA you plan to keep cutting. For one you want gone, we buy it outright, and the service records from those visits are worth sending with the details.

Common questions

Do you buy used Hyundai WIA F400, F500 and F650 machining centers?

Yes. F-series machines are the largest group of Hyundai WIA verticals in our listings, the F500 and F400 most of all, with KF and VX500 verticals and i-CUT380 drilling and tapping centers behind them. For a vertical, give us the table size and travels from the plate, the spindle taper and top speed, how many tools the magazine holds, and whether through-spindle coolant or a fourth axis is fitted. Most of ours that name a control run Fanuc, so read the exact version off the screen along with the spindle run hours.

Do you buy Hyundai WIA horizontals, boring mills and vertical lathes?

Yes, the large machines too. Our Hyundai WIA listings include KH1000, KH80G and KH63G horizontal machining centers, HS5000 and HS6300 horizontals, KBN135 boring mills and LV800 and LV1100 vertical lathes. On a horizontal, count the pallets and say whether a pallet pool goes with it; on a boring mill, give the spindle diameter and the travels; on a vertical lathe, the table diameter, the largest swing and height, and whether the ram has live tooling. Tell us the weight from the plate and how the machine can leave the building, and we can arrange the rigging and freight.

Who buys used Hyundai WIA CNC machines?

We do, as a direct buyer. Hyundai WIA has built machine tools in Korea since 1977, and by its own count it ranked first in Korea and tenth in the world for machine tool sales in 2018, and its turning and machining centers are a regular part of what we buy. Send us the model from the plate, the control and the spindle hours, and we come back with a cash offer on that machine.

What is the Hyundai WIA XF6300?

The XF6300 is Hyundai WIA's 5-axis vertical machining center, which the company's history says went into production in 2017 and which its site presents for complex machining and mold machining. A 5-axis machine like this is priced on its trunnion or table condition, spindle hours and probing as much as on its year, so include those when you ask us for an offer on an XF6300.

Are used Hyundai and Kia CNC machines the same make as Hyundai WIA?

They share one history. Hyundai WIA's own timeline shows the company renamed Kia Heavy Industry in 1996 and WIA Corp. in 2001, records the merger of the Hyundai and Kia machine tool businesses in 2005, and gives 2009 as the year it became HYUNDAI WIA Corp. An older lathe or mill may therefore carry a Kia or WIA badge rather than Hyundai WIA. Tell us exactly what the plate says, and we buy it either way.

Do you buy older Hyundai WIA lathes such as the KIT4500?

Yes. Hyundai WIA turning centers are built on a one-piece slant bed, in an LM-guide lineup aimed at high-speed production and a box-guide lineup aimed at heavy cutting torque, according to the WIA Machine Tools site. Which guide type your lathe has, plus its chuck size, live tooling and any sub-spindle, shapes the offer on a KIT4500 or any other older Hyundai WIA turning center.

Thinking about selling Hyundai WIA Machines?

A used Hyundai WIA is priced on the machine in front of us: the lathe or machining center model off the plate, the control it runs, its spindle hours and the automation that goes with it. Whether the plate reads Hyundai WIA, WIA or Kia, send what it says along with a few photos, and Jason Puuri will come back with a cash offer. We can arrange the rigging, crating, freight and pickup once you accept.
