The Haas GT-10 belongs to the GT Series, and its maker called it a chucker: a CNC lathe whose maximum capacity is a part 10 in across and 8 in long (254 x 203 mm). Swing reaches 16.25 in (413 mm). On the spindle sits an A2-5 nose, and a vector drive rated 7.5 hp (5.6 kW) turns it at speeds as high as 3000 rpm. Tools are carried on a cross slide that Haas calls high speed. Neither a chuck nor a turret came with the base machine. The Haas control on the GT-10 had rigid tapping, tool management, single-button features, a USB port and a 15 in color LCD.

Haas launched the GT-10 for small and mid-sized shops moving to shorter runs and multi-operation work, as a chucker lathe for second operations that takes many kinds of jobs where floor space is scarce.
