Of the two ecoTurn lathes in DMG MORI's table, the ecoTurn 510 is the bigger, swinging 680 mm over the bed and 465 mm over the cross slides, which is also its largest turning diameter. The bed allows 1,050 mm of Z motion against 300 mm on X, both at 30 m/min. On a 220h5 flat flange nose the spindle carries a 250 mm chuck, and bar passes at ø 76 mm, or ø 90 mm with the optional cylinder. Under the Siemens control the spindle is rated 33 / 22 kW and 630 / 420 Nm at 40 / 100% duty and turns to 3,250 rpm. Its VDI 40 turret has 12 stations, and driven tools, optional on all 12 stations, reach 4,000 rpm. A tailstock with an 850 mm automatic stroke, an MT 5 center and up to 1,200 daN of force rides on the bed. The machine weighs 7,500 kg, or 8,100 kg with a chip conveyor.
