Brother's HS-70A is a wire EDM, and Brother's page marks it as a discontinued product. The table strokes 410mm×260mm and accepts a workpiece weighing up to 350kg. Brother gives a top machining speed of 300 mm² per minute and a surface roughness down to 2.5μmRy. Optical linear scales with a 0.1 μm pitch read the X and Y axes, and wire threading is automatic. For machining several faces of one part, an index table is optional. Memory capacity is 10MB (25,400m), and the NC holds built-in machining conditions shown on a 12.1 inch color display. Brother says the machine needs no air supply, and it saves floor area and energy with an inverter pump and a power supply that guards against electrolysis.
