Used WaldrichSiegen Machines We Buy
Used WaldrichSiegen machines make up a three listing corner of our catalog, and Machine Tool Exchange buys machines like them outright from the companies that own them. Three listings, three different model designations, one recorded year between them, and a two way split between Metal Cutting and CNC Gantry and Portal Mills.

How Selling Your WaldrichSiegen Works
Start with the WaldrichSiegen plate
Use the form or call us with what the WaldrichSiegen data plate shows: model, serial number and year, plus a photo of the control screen. On a heavy lathe or roll grinder, add the swing, the length between centers and the steady rests; on a ProfiMill or older portal mill, the table size and the milling heads that come with it.
Hear back in 24-48 hours
We are a direct buyer, not a broker, and have bought used machine tools since 2012. Expect a cash offer on your WaldrichSiegen within 24 to 48 hours of sending the details, with no obligation to accept it.
Plan the move together
Accept the offer and we can arrange the rigging, crating, freight and pickup for a machine of this weight, planned around its foundation, the access route and the figures on the plate.

Who Builds WaldrichSiegen Machines
WaldrichSiegen is a German builder of heavy-duty machine tools for milling, turning, grinding, texturing and boring. Heinrich Adolf Waldrich founded the company in 1840, and its headquarters, design department and main manufacturing plant are in Siegen, in North Rhine-Westphalia. The registered companies behind the name are Waldrich Siegen GmbH & Co. KG and Waldrich Siegen Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, both on the commercial register in Siegen.
Siegen has not been the factory town the whole time. Production ran at Burbach for 40 years before the company moved into a new Siegen plant in 2021, so a WaldrichSiegen built in between came out of the Burbach works. The dates are in the table below.
WaldrichSiegen Dates on Its Own Chronicle
The WaldrichSiegen entries on the chronicle its parent group publishes, which WaldrichSiegen's own site links as its history:
| Year | What the chronicle records |
|---|---|
| 1840 | Heinrich Adolf Waldrich founds the company |
| 1918 | Oskar Waldrich takes sole charge and resumes building roller turning lathes, drilling, planing and roll neck milling machines |
| 1920 | Roll grinding machines join the product line |
| 1951 | The first small milling machines are built |
| 1961 | A joint venture with Ingersoll Maschinen und Werkzeuge GmbH is founded |
| 1971 | Ingersoll takes the company over and renames it WaldrichSiegen Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH |
| 1979 to 1981 | Production moves from Siegen to Burbach |
| 2004 | Christoph Thoma of Maschinenfabrik Herkules buys the company at auction on January 26 |
| 2009 | Development of the ProfiMill portal milling machine moves forward |
| 2013 | The ProfiTurn V vertical turning machine is presented |
| 2021 | Production starts at a new plant in Siegen and administration moves back there, after 40 years in Burbach |
| 2025 | The ProfiMill evo extends the ProfiMill series |
The chronicle runs to 2025. It gives no years for the ProfiGrind, ProfiTex, ProfiTurn H or ProfiTurn M lines.
WaldrichSiegen, the HerkulesGroup and the Coburg Waldrich
WaldrichSiegen describes itself as an independent company within the HerkulesGroup. The group's chronicle places WaldrichSiegen, Herkules and HerkulesGroup Services at the group headquarters in Siegen Kaan-Marienborn, and records that Christoph Thoma, then CEO and chairman of Maschinenfabrik Herkules, bought WaldrichSiegen at auction in 2004. Herkules, which the group calls its specialist for roll machining, is a separate make: a machine with a Herkules plate belongs on /brands/herkules/.
Waldrich Coburg is a different company again, WALDRICH COBURG GmbH, based in Coburg. Its own company history starts in 1919, when the engineer Adolf Waldrich, until then a partner in H.A. Waldrich Siegen, moved to Coburg with the engineer Emil Hardt. The WaldrichSiegen pages we read do not mention Coburg at all. Machines built in Coburg have their own hub at /brands/waldrich-coburg/, and the name on the plate decides which hub yours belongs on.
WaldrichSiegen's Machine Lines
WaldrichSiegen's products page lists ProfiMill and ProfiMill compact portal milling machines, ProfiTex texturing machines, ProfiGrind roll grinders, the ProfiTurn V vertical lathe, ProfiTurn H horizontal turning lathes, ProfiTurn M mill-turning machines and UNION horizontal boring mills, which WaldrichSiegen develops, builds and sells for the whole group. It also supplies complete roll shops, from loaders and chock pullers to roll racks.
These are big machines by any measure. WaldrichSiegen rates the ProfiTurn H for workpieces up to 7 m in diameter, 30 m long and 500 tons, and offers it as a turn-milling machine or a crankshaft lathe. It builds the ProfiGrind for rolls weighing up to 300 t, with every structural component in cast iron machined in house.
The designations on the WaldrichSiegen records in our catalog do not use these Profi names, which fits the dates: the chronicle puts ProfiMill development at 2009, so an older portal mill will not carry the name. We quote the designation exactly as the plate shows it.
What Decides the Offer on a Used WaldrichSiegen
A heavy WaldrichSiegen is valued on what it can still carry and how current its electrics are, more than on its age. WaldrichSiegen itself recommends modernizing machine controls, measuring devices and drives after 10 to 15 years of operation, because electronic parts get harder to buy over time. So tell us whether the control on yours is the original or a retrofit, when the retrofit was done and by whom.
After the control, the capacity on the plate matters most: swing and length between centers on a lathe or roll grinder, the rated workpiece weight, and table size and gantry width on a portal mill. Then come the condition of the ways and spindle bearings, which steady rests, faceplates, heads and measuring gear stay with the machine, and whether it is still under power. A machine on its own foundation gets scoped together with the route out of the building, so a wide photo of where it stands earns its place next to the plate photo.
WaldrichSiegen Service, or Selling Outright
WaldrichSiegen keeps servicing the machines it has delivered, over decades: spare parts, complete revamps done at the customer's plant or at its own, teleservice for current and selected revamped machines, operator and maintenance training, and a hotline that runs around the clock. Its service departments are in Germany, China, India and the United States, and it modernizes other makers' machines as well.
If a revamp suits your plans, that is the way to keep the machine working. If it has to go, we buy it outright as it stands, and any revamp or retrofit paperwork is worth sending with the plate photo.
All Three WaldrichSiegen Listings, and What They Are
This hub holds three listings, and three is the entire hub rather than the first page of something longer. Every one of them carries the WaldrichSiegen nameplate, and no other builder appears here at all. Two file under Metal Cutting, which is the catalog's umbrella label and not a machine type, so what the record says about those two is all we will say about them. The third files under CNC Gantry & Portal Mills. Across the three there are three different model designations, so nothing repeats anywhere on the page, and one listing records a production year of 1995 while the other two record no year whatsoever. Saying that plainly matters more on a hub this size than it would on a large one. There is no group of comparable units here to average a number across, so each machine gets scoped on its own record, control and condition.
The Three Model Designations
The three designations, one listing apiece, are MCP S 1500 TP CNC, PF-F-150 and DH. The 1995 belongs to the MCP S 1500 TP CNC, and the other two carry no year in the record. Those are catalog strings entered as they appear, and we are not going to decode the letters or the numbers in them for you, because the plate on your machine settles that question and our archive does not. Read together they still say something worth knowing. Not one of these designations appears twice, so there is no second unit of the same model sitting here to price the first one against, and an offer on a waldrich siegen machine gets built from the plate, the control, the condition and photographs rather than from a run of comparable sales. If the designation on your machine is none of these three, that changes nothing about whether we buy it.
Where WaldrichSiegen Sits in the Gantry and Portal Book
One of these three listings sits in CNC Gantry & Portal Mills, and that hub is a far larger room: 435 listings across 32 distinct brands. Exactly one of those 435 is a WaldrichSiegen and six are Waldrich-Coburg. That answers the question worth asking if you are holding one large German machine, which is whether a company with a single unit of your nameplate on file is set up for equipment of that size. Large format work is ordinary traffic here, and we can arrange the rigging and heavy freight a machine this size needs, so an uncommon nameplate is not a reason for us to pass. Our CNC gantry and portal mill listings are at /machine-type/cnc-gantry-portal-mills/ if you want to see the class of equipment that covers. None of this is a claim to WaldrichSiegen depth on this hub, because on three listings there is none to claim.
WaldrichSiegen and Waldrich-Coburg Are Filed Separately
People type this nameplate three ways, WaldrichSiegen closed up, waldrich siegen with a space and waldrich-siegen with a hyphen, and all three mean the same builder. Our catalog carries it closed up. The name that causes real trouble is a different one. Our catalog carries WaldrichSiegen and Waldrich-Coburg as two separate brand facets: this hub holds three listings, /brands/waldrich-coburg/ holds thirty, and the brands index lists them as two entries rather than as one entry spelled two ways. On the gantry and portal hub they show up as two separate rows again, at one and six. What that supports is exactly this much and no more. We file them separately, we buy both of them, and the name cast or stamped on the data plate is what decides which one you are holding. How the two firms are related is set out above from each maker's own pages; our catalog itself adds nothing to that.
What Jason Puuri Needs Before He Can Scope One
Jason Puuri scopes these machines himself, and what he asks for first is short: brand, model, year, condition and control type. Photographs speed the evaluation up and are not required. A quote typically comes back within 24 to 48 hours. The year is the field sellers stall on, and on a WaldrichSiegen they should not. Two of the three listings on this page carry no year at all and the third carries 1995, so a machine with nothing in that field is the ordinary case here rather than a gap to close before calling. Because every model on this hub is a one-off in our records, a legible photograph of the data plate, plus the machine and the control panel, moves an evaluation further than a catalog lookup does. If the plate is painted over, missing or unreadable, tell us and we will work from the control and the dimensions instead.
Selling One Machine or Clearing a Bay
Machine Tool Exchange is a direct buyer, an affiliate of Superior Machine Tools, and it purchases equipment outright. There is no consignment, there is no listing, and there is no third party to wait on while your machine sits. We can arrange rigging, crating and freight across all 50 states, and we can arrange the pickup and the move. Any brand, any condition, any quantity: running, idle or decommissioned, a single machine or a full facility. A machine with a gantry footprint does not leave on a forklift, and we can arrange that crew for you. If you are clearing a bay instead of selling one unit, we buy Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Doosan, DMG MORI, Toshiba and Makino equipment as readily as a Waldrich, quoted and collected together. The form is at /sell-your-cnc-machine/ and the number is 517-514-5190.

Common questions
How do I sell a used WaldrichSiegen machine?
Send the brand, model, year, condition and control type through the form at /sell-your-cnc-machine/ or call 517-514-5190. A quote typically comes back within 24 to 48 hours, and MTE can arrange the rigging, freight and pickup.
What details do you need to quote a WaldrichSiegen?
Brand, model, year, condition and control type. Photos speed the evaluation up without being required. On this nameplate a data plate photograph matters most, since two of our three listings carry no year.
Do you buy Waldrich gantry and portal mills?
Yes. Our gantry mill page says we buy gantry and bridge type machining centers of all brands, sizes and configurations, and Waldrich is named in its builder list alongside Zimmermann, Pama, FPT, Giddings and Lewis, JOBS and FIDIA. It says Waldrich without specifying Siegen or Coburg. We buy both. See /sell-your-gantry-mill/.
Is WaldrichSiegen the same as Waldrich-Coburg?
Our catalog files them as two separate brands: three listings here, thirty at /brands/waldrich-coburg/. We buy both, and the name on the data plate decides which one you have.
Can you arrange rigging and freight on a machine this size?
Yes. We can arrange rigging, crating and freight in all 50 states. We can arrange the crew for a footprint this size.
Who arranges the pickup for my Waldrich Siegen?
We buy your Waldrich Siegen outright, and we can arrange the pickup and the move off your floor.
Will you buy a WaldrichSiegen that is idle or not running?
Yes. Any brand, any condition, any quantity, running, idle or decommissioned, a single machine or a full facility. Tell us its actual state rather than calling it running.
Where are WaldrichSiegen machines built?
WaldrichSiegen builds in Siegen, Germany, where its headquarters, design department and main manufacturing plant are. Its chronicle shows a long gap: production moved from Siegen to Burbach between 1979 and 1981 and returned to a new Siegen plant in spring 2021, after 40 years at the Burbach site. By those dates, a WaldrichSiegen built between the two moves came out of Burbach. For your offer, the serial number and year on the plate matter far more than the town it was built in.
Is WaldrichSiegen part of the HerkulesGroup?
Yes. WaldrichSiegen calls itself an independent company within the HerkulesGroup, a group of heavy machine tool builders. The group's chronicle records that Christoph Thoma, CEO and chairman of Maschinenfabrik Herkules, bought WaldrichSiegen at auction on January 26, 2004. Herkules, the group's roll-machining specialist, sells under its own name, and we keep its machines on a separate hub. If the plate on your machine reads WaldrichSiegen, this is the right page to start from; if it reads Herkules, send the details the same way.
Does WaldrichSiegen build milling machines?
Yes. WaldrichSiegen's chronicle dates its first small milling machines to 1951 and the development of the ProfiMill portal milling machine to 2009, and the ProfiMill evo, a high-gantry machine, joined that series in 2025. The current range also includes the ProfiMill compact and UNION horizontal boring mills. A used WaldrichSiegen portal mill sells on its table and gantry dimensions, the milling heads that stay with it and the state of its control, so send those along with a photo of the data plate.
Thinking about selling WaldrichSiegen Machines?
Three listings, three model designations, one year on record: there is no comparable here to price your machine against, which is why a data plate photograph beats a catalog lookup on a WaldrichSiegen. Whether the plate reads Siegen or Coburg, Jason Puuri scopes it himself and comes back inside 24 to 48 hours. Start at /sell-your-cnc-machine/ or call 517-514-5190.
