What the maker published about the Makino A81
Makino's page for the A81 lists X at 35.4", Y at 31.5" and Z at 40.2". The page also lists Pallet at 24.8", Maximum Workpiece at ø39.4" x 51.2" and Maximum Payload at 2,640 lbs. The page lists Spindle RPM at 10,000 RPM, Rapid Traverse at 1,969 in/min and Cutting Feedrate at 1,969 in/min. The sheet gives ATC Capacity as 40 (60, 97, 137, 187), Maximum Tool Length as 23.6" (27.2") and Maximum Tool Diameter as 11.8". The page lists Tool to Tool at 1.7 secs and Chip to Chip at 4.0 secs. Makino integrates the spindle with the rotor of the drive motor, which reduces vibration during high-speed operation.
