What the maker published about the Chevalier FNL-320Y
Chevalier Machinery's American site, in a copy from 2016, sets the FNL-320Y beside the FNL-250Y, FNL-250SY and FNL-320SY under its multi-axis turning and milling lathes. Across the series a Y axis allows milling, drilling and tapping off the centerline, the turret carries driven tools, and a servo moves the C axis; the SY versions add a built-in sub-spindle, whose chuck the FNL-320Y column marks NA. On this model the swing over the bed is 23.6 inches, which is also the largest turning diameter, and the turning length reaches 21.9 inches. The spindle has an A2-8 nose and a 3.4 inch bore, and a 20HP motor takes it to 3500rpm, against 4500rpm on the FNL-250Y with its A2-6 nose. The turret has 12 positions for 1 inch turning tools and boring bars with a 1.5 inch shank. Its driven stations use the BMT60 interface, and the turret reaches the next tool in 0.2 sec.
