What the maker published about the Chevalier FCL-3240

Chevalier Machinery's American site listed the FCL-3240 in its tool room teach lathe line, built on a big flat bed for work of large diameter, under the spec header FCL-3240/3280/32120/32160 for the 32 inch swing machines. Over the bed it swings 32 inches and over the cross slide 18.5 inches, with a 16 inch center height, and the FCL-3240 gives 40 inches between centers. Center distances of 80, 120 and 160 inches carry the other names in the header. The spindle has an A2-11 nose, with A2-8 or D1-11 as options, a 6.3 inch bore and an MT6 taper, and a 40HP motor drives it. Control is an ANILAM 4200T, with modes for teaching, jogging, power feed and constant surface speed. Feed runs from 0 to 200 ipm, and rapid traverse in X and Z is 400 ipm. Front and back turrets take vertical or horizontal tooling. The page also lists a temperature regulator that keeps heat from damaging the work, metered lubrication of the drive units and a tailstock 4 inches in diameter.
