A turntable with two faces and a traversing column set apart Brother's TC-R2A, a CNC tapping center. Parts on the outer face can be unloaded and replaced while the spindle works on parts held on the inner face. Its reach is 420 mm on the X axis, with 320 mm on Y and 270 mm on Z. X and Y rapid at 30 m/min apiece, and Z at 50 m/min. The #30 spindle is listed at 10,000 min-1, or at 16,000 min-1 in its higher speed build, and it draws from 14 tool pockets. Brother adds that the machine lends itself to automation. Its required floor space is 1,460 by 3,130 mm. Thermal growth along Z can be corrected by an optional compensation system. Brother has moved the TC-R2A into its discontinued products.
