A 2015 capture of the AMADA AMERICA site shows the HG 1003 ARs as a bending cell in which a robot works an HG Series press brake fitted with AMADA's patented Automatic Tool Changer (ATC), so parts can be bent automatically. The robot handles workpieces weighing up to 44 lbs. Four tool manipulators draw tooling from 15 stockers for punches and 18 for dies. Every stocker holds 31.5" of tooling, which the page totals at more than 86 feet, or 26.4 m. All loading, bending and unloading is done by a 6-axis robot. While a part is bent, a potentiometer backgauge and an extra side gauge correct for any offset in how it sits on the die, and AMADA credits that correction with bending each part the same way as the last. An Automatic Gripper Changer (AGC) gives the robot as many as nine grippers to pick from. Control is the AMNC-3i, which the page marks as new.
