Okuma's LT2000 EX is a twin-spindle horizontal turning center for 6-inch chucks. Upper and lower V16 turrets can each work with either spindle, so first and second operations run on one machine. Okuma builds it with two or three turrets, each layout with or without a Y-axis. Every turret carries turning tools along with milling and drilling tools. Thirty-two tool stations serve the two-turret build, while the three-turret build has 48. Maximum turning diameter is Ø8.27 in, and maximum turning length is 5.12 in. The spindles run from 50 to 6,000 min⁻¹, with an alternate 50 to 5,000 min⁻¹ range for the left spindle only. Spindle noses are Ø140 flat, or A2-6 in the alternate build. Left and right spindles are each rated 15.3/10 hp, or 30/20 hp in the alternate specification. Rapids reach 1,181 ipm in X, 1,575 ipm in Z and 591 ipm in Y, and the C-axis rapids at 200 rpm. The control is the OSP-P300, a PC-based unit with open architecture.
