What the maker publishes about the current Haas CL-1
Small parts are the target of the CL-1, which Haas classes as an ultra-compact chucker lathe for small-part runs, second operations, short batches and prototypes. Its standard turret is an automatic 8-station unit. The spindle nose takes 5C collets and carries a 2 3/16 in - 10 thread. Top spindle speed is 6000 rpm from a 5.0 hp belt drive, and the bore measures 1.25 in. Bar work runs up to 1.00 in, and chucks up to 4.0 in fit. The cross slide leaves 11.0 in of swing and the table 4.95 in, the same figure Haas gives as maximum cutting diameter. Travel is 12.00 in on X and 8.00 in on Z. Both axes rapid at 757 ipm, and cutting feed peaks at 500 ipm. A C axis on the main spindle turns at up to 160 rpm and positions to 0.01°. The coolant tank holds 13 gal. The machine runs from either single-phase power or three-phase power and moves on a pallet jack.
